Chocolate Cherry Cake From Scratch. Spread frosting over top and sides of cake. Transfer cake to a serving platter.
Add the vanilla and cherry extract. Sift flour and soda. cream butter and sugar. add egg, melted chocolate nuts and cherries and juice to creamed mixture. add dry ingredients and buttermilk alternately. After about four minutes, once the mixture is thickened, remove from heat.
Gradually add the powdered sugar beating on low speed until blended (cover bowl with a towel to keep a cloud of powdered sugar from floating over your kitchen).
Be careful not to over heat the chocolate.
Sift together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking soda and salt. Add eggs, melted butter, buttermilk, vanilla extract and cherry pie filling mixing well each time with a spoon. Mix the cake mix, eggs, pie filling and almond extract.
